Description
Moovingo are delighted to welcome to the market Number 64 Melvin Road. Superbly located in a quiet enclave close to Terenure Village. Number 64 was carefully extended and refurbished in 2011 and has been lovingly cared for by its current owners over the past 7 years. The extension has allowed for generous proportions throughout. This inviting home has wonderful character and space in a superb location.
The accommodation briefly comprises of a wood panelled hallway and staircase leading to a bright kitchen and breakfast come dining room. The extension added to the rear in 2011 has transformed the property, allowing natural light to flow right through the property. Audio canceling insulation was installed between the floors and the side passageway was retained to provide easy external access to the garden. The ground floor also includes a large utility room with access to an outside store and a w/c underneath the stairs.
Upstairs there are 3 large double bedrooms and new wooden floors throughout. The main bathroom has also recently been upgraded and includes an over sized shower. There is also a large floored attic space for neat storage.
An urban garden to the front of the property provides over 50 fresh fruit, veg and herb species all year around. The current owners have assured us it is low maintenance and their pride of joy which can be admired every day. They grow berries for their morning smoothies and lettuce leaves to go with whatever is being cooked on the BBQ in the back garden. Also included to the rear here is a working Belfast sink, perimeter planting with seating and a garden shed.
It is with great sadness the owners are selling as they relocate abroad. They love everything about the property and area from the excellent schools and local artisan shops to the easy access to the city centre and surrounding areas.

Terenure is one of Dublin's premium residential addresses. The location offers fantastic amenities including excellent schools, sports, social and shopping facilities. The mature neighborhood is supported by strong transport links including bicycle and bus lanes leading to the city centre and nearby parks. The area is also rich in history case in point the Guinness Company developed No 64 Melvin Road.
In 1947 the Guinness Company surveyed its staff and found that single men were being discouraged from marrying due to severe accommodation shortages. As a result, the company purchased a 22-acre site off Mount Tallant Avenue and constructed 238 houses for their employees – on what are now Corrib, Derravaragh and Melvin Roads.
